Included
What the free AI color analysis includes
Every free result has the same five parts. Nothing is locked behind a sign-up.
Your estimated season
One of the four main seasons — Spring, Summer, Autumn or Winter — with a short explanation of what in your photo points there.
Four priority colors
Four named shades from your season’s palette, each with a reason and how to use it.
One everyday outfit
An outfit built from your colors, plus an AI preview image made from your photo.
One caution color
A color to wear with care, with a better alternative from your palette.
Photo notes
Notes about lighting, filters or makeup that may have affected the estimate.
See a real example in the [sample report](/#report-preview).
How to
How to get a free color analysis from a photo
Face a window
Soft daylight, no direct sun, no colored lamps. Overcast days are ideal.
Keep it natural
No filter, no beauty mode, little or no makeup. Pull hair back only if it hides your face — hair color is part of the analysis.
Upload one clear selfie
Front-facing, one person, eyes visible. JPG, PNG or WebP up to 10 MB.
Try the colors in real life
Hold your four colors near your face in daylight. Keep what works; the result is a starting point, not a verdict.
Compare
Free color analysis options compared
There are several free ways to find your colors. They answer different questions.
| Method | What you get | Strengths | Limits |
|---|---|---|---|
| AI photo analysis (this site) | Season estimate, 4 colors, outfit, caution color | Looks at skin, hair and eyes together; explains its reasoning | Depends on photo lighting; four main seasons only |
| Online quiz | A season from self-reported answers | No photo needed | Relies on your own judgment of your coloring |
| TikTok / camera filter | Color frames around your face | Fun, instant visual comparison | No explanation; filter and lighting distort colors |
| ChatGPT prompt | A text opinion on a photo | Flexible, conversational | Inconsistent between runs; no fixed palette |
| DIY draping at home | Your own comparison with fabrics | Real colors in real light | Needs many fabrics and a second opinion |
| In-person analyst | Full draping session | Expert eye, real fabrics | Not free — usually a paid appointment |
Accuracy
Is free AI color analysis accurate?
It is as good as the photo. AI color analysis reads the visible relationship between your skin, hair and eyes; if lighting tints the photo yellow or blue, the estimate shifts with it. That is also true for analysts working from photos.
We do not claim a measured accuracy percentage. Each result includes a confidence level and photo notes so you can tell when to retake the picture. If your result surprises you, try a second photo in different daylight.
The free tool estimates the four main seasons. If you want to narrow further, use the 12-season guides to compare the three sub-seasons in your family.
Frequently asked questions
Short answers to the questions people ask most about this topic.
Is the color analysis really free?
Yes. Uploading a selfie and getting your season, four colors, an outfit and a caution color is free, with no account required.
Do I need an app for free color analysis?
No. It works in any modern browser on your phone or computer.
What photo should I upload?
A front-facing selfie in soft daylight, without filters or heavy makeup, with eyes and hair visible.
Does the free analysis tell me my 12-season type?
It estimates one of the four main seasons. Use the season guides to explore the three sub-seasons in that family.
What happens to my photo?
Your photo is sent to AI providers to create the analysis and preview. The app keeps a private, temporary report for up to two hours. See the privacy policy for details.
Is AI color analysis better than a TikTok filter?
They do different things. A filter places color frames around your face; the AI analysis returns a season estimate with named colors, reasons and an outfit.
